Small Handgun Lights for SIG MCX

Literally anything will fit on the pic rail. Older Sig MCX uses the keymod system to mount, and the newer models have the MLOK rail system.

They might not have more creative ways to mount them like a dedicated rifle light, but they are simple for people maybe only have one light that they switch back and forth on different guns.

The first is the cheapest light and yet the most widely used duty light on many police handguns.

Streamlight TLR-1 HL: This light is known for its reliable rail and powerful light beam, and It's perfect for just starting out on the Sig MCX. It's currently priced around $99.99.

The newer Streamlight TLR 1 HLX has a different body, but its more for handgun use.

Brightness Over Beam Focus

Lumens vs. Candela: Here’s the scoop — lumens tell you brightness while candela focuses on the beam’s reach. A close-quarters needs more lumens. If you’re scoping further out, think candela in the range of 40 to 60K.

x300 turbo vs x300 ultra

SureFire X300 Turbo

  • 650 lumens for brightness
  • 66,000 candela for reach
  • Renowned for durability, it’s pretty much the gold standard and it’s priced at $295.00.

Higher lumens mean quicker battery drain. Rechargeables can make life easier for more training if you are just messing around without buying batteries.

The best ones so far are the Olight. Some may not be combat proven, but for normal low light training, they are pretty good for the money. The Olight Turbo is what you want. It's basically a long range thrower like the Surefire X300 Turbo without spending much.

More Compat Light

tlr 7 hlx low light

These lights are so light you don't even need to worry about them adding weight to the rifle. I don't recommend the original TLR 7 because it's too dim for rifle use especially if you plan to shoot at night past 50 yards. so the next option is the Streamlight TLR 7 HLX.

  • Streamlight TLR-7 HLX: Offering 1000 lumens and 20000 Candela, that's 2X more illumination than the original model. It's also compact and light for those who don’t want anything too bulky and it acts like a full size light.

Now this is just going some pistol light options to go on the Sig MCX. If you want actual

Misconceptions

Don't always fall for the high lumen lights, 1000 lumens but with only 5000 candela is still a shit light for rifle applications past 50 yards in low light. You want something in the range of 30k to 80K candela that can do this:
