Best Red Dot Sights For CZ Shadow 2

Can you put a red dot on the CZ Shadow 2?

Of course you can!

The easiest way is to buy the Shadow 2 optic ready model right off the bat so you don't have to mill the slide or buy a new customized slide.

In this buyer's guide, let's check out the best red dot sights for CZ Shadow 2 and where to buy optic plates.

NOTE: Optic plates for CZ Shadow 2 OR are sold separately

This full steel frame pistol is heavy, which helps absorb the recoil and minimize muzzle rise that provide a smooth shooting experience, and a red dot will add an unfair advantage for fasting aiming.

In the recent years, the CZ SP01 has taken the competition world by storm, and this pistol is now one of the top level USPSA production firearm.

Let's check them out...

Following the success and popularity of the CZ SP01 in USPSA production division, the Shadow 2 is even better with fine-tuned SA/DA trigger mechanism.

It has superior trigger pull and fast reset, so pair it with a red dot sight is a game changer! Another benefit of the added RDS is more surface area on the slide to grab for racking the slide.

Trijicon SRO - Best For Competition

Trijicon SRO cz shadow 2 slide

Referenced PrimaryMachine

Why we picked this one - Trijicon SRO's enlarged window size allows the shooter to pick up the dot faster than the original RMR, and the shooter experience less effort trying to find dot.

It's a better option than C-MORE RTS and other legacy large window competition optics.

The mounting footprint is the same as the Trijicon RMR and the dot sizes are available in:

  • 1 MOA
  • 2.5 MOA
  • 5 MOA

*Larger dot helps with faster sight acquisition, 5 MOA dot is recommended for USPSA & IPSC

One special feature that is finally added to the SRO is the top loading battery access, to eliminate the need for sight removal for battery replacement or re-zero the sight.

The CZ Shadow 2 OR is ideal for USPSA carry optics, and the slide is slightly different than the standard Shadow 2 to allow for its optic plate system.

However, the OR model doesn't come with an optic plate, so the one we recommend is the factory CZ Shadow 2 Trijicon RMR plate.

If you have the standard slide and you don't want to mill the slide, then we recommend the EGW Shadow 2 dovetail RMR mount.

CZ Shadow 2 holosun 507C

Why this might be a better option than Trijicon RMR - The Holosun 507C is clearly beating the Trijicon RMR on sales because it's affordable and has the same durability.

One thing people love about the Holosun 507C is that it shares the same mounting footprint as the RMR, so if you have want to try the Trijicon SRO later you don't have to buy a different optic plate.

Another feature the Holosun 507C has is the multi-reticle system, which allows the user to pick from:

  • 2 MOA Center dot
  • 32 MOA circle
  • 32 MOA circle + 2 MOA Dot

*Change by pressing the minus button for 3 seconds.

The 32 MOA circle helps significantly for picking up the sight faster because it's big and easier to see.

For the cost of this optic, you can get almost 2 Trijicon RMR’s. The battery life is great, and you will not disappoint.

CZ Shadow 2 deltapoint pro

The DeltaPoint Pro has a slightly taller and wider lens than the Trijicon RMR, and it’s one of Leupold’s premium micro red dot optics.

For the longest time, the DeltaPoint Pro has been people’s favorite competition optic and it still is today.

The sight is similar to the Trijicon SRO for having a top-battery loading design, and the only thing that makes people pick the DeltaPoint Pro over the SRO is the clear lens without tint.

The DeltaPoint Pro also offers a 7.5 MOA dot reticle, but is's no longer in production. So if they still were for sale, the 7.5 MOA dot is the way to go for fast shooting up close targets.

If you have one already and you want to put it on the CZ Shadow 2, please get the AD0105 plate from CZ.

Overall, the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro is a great pistol optic and it looks edgy on the CZ Shadow 2.

Does CZ Shadow 2 Optic Ready Model Come With Optic Plates?

CZ pistol with red dot sight

The CZ Shadow 2 Optic Ready pistol doesn't include any optic plates in the packaging, so you have to buy them separately.

You can buy them from CZ directly or from 3rd party sellers like OpticsPlanet, Amazon, Brownells or others.

Dovetail Mount Option

For the standard CZ Shadow 2 slide, the only way to mount an optic without milling the slide is to use a dovetail rear sight plate.

Remove the rear sight and slide the adapter plate in with some loctite.

Frame Side Optic Mount

If you have a standard non-optic ready CZ, another option to mount a optic is to use the Czech Mate CZC Multi Optic Side Mount on the frame of the pistol.

The optic mounting holes will fit the following red dot sights

  • C-More STS, RTS II, STS II
  • Vortex Razor
  • Burris FastFire 2 & 3
  • Docter
  • Vortex Venom
  • Trijicon RMR, SRO
  • Holosun 407C, 507C, 508T
  • Sig Romeo 1, 3

This is a direct replacement for the Czech Mate factory mount, and it will also work for the Tactical Sports Orange Thumb Rest supplied with (3) M4 screws.
