Streamlight TLR 2 HL G - Best Overall

I've been really impressed with the Streamlight TLR 2 HL G rail-mounted flashlight. It's equipped with a <5mW Class 3R green laser that's fantastic for long-range targeting, especially in low light conditions. It's no wonder why police officers across the country rely on this light the most.

One of the standout features is its programmable strobe, which can be a powerful tool for deterring threats with an intense non-lethal light beam.

What sets this flashlight apart is its 800 lumen white LED light (20,000 candela). This makes it exceptionally effective for handguns in low light conditions, especially when dealing with fog and other ambient light. The 20K candela is really something, easily cutting through the photonic barrier to light up the scene.

And if you've been on the lookout for a way to save money while still getting a product that rivals the Surefire X400, then the Streamlight TLR 2 HL G is definitely a product you won't want to miss out on.

SureFire X300 Turbo / Best Throw

What I love about it is its powerful throw, thanks to its high candela rating up to 70K. This means it can illuminate like a laser over long distances without any loss of brightness. It's a fantastic tool for temporarily impairing an adversary's vision while maintaining a safe distance, which can be crucial in threat control situations.

What's even more impressive is that the 1,000 blinding lumens can light up the environment in the dark and blinding potential threats. When I used this on an outdoor range, seeing targets further away has never been a problem again compared to low candela lights. I can see targets clearly without the beam fading away.

Another great feature is its ability to power through photonic barriers like fog and ambient light, ensuring reliable visibility in challenging conditions.

Streamlight TLR 7A Flex - Best Compact Light

I've got to say, the TLR 7A Flex is hands down the best compact light for the CZ P01. This new version not only looks good but also comes with upgraded control ergonomics, making it even better than the original model.

One of the things I really appreciate about it is how super light and compact it is. It runs on just one CR123A battery (which lasts a whopping 50,000 hours) and can produce an impressive 500 lumens and 5000 candela, thanks to its C4 LED technology.

What's neat is that it fits perfectly flush on the compact CZ P01, allowing for faster holstering and making it ideal for concealed carry.

I've also been impressed with its wide indoor spill, thanks to Streamlight's TIR Optic. It produces a concentrated beam with excellent peripheral illumination within 30 to 40 yards.

The improved activation switches are a real plus too. They're ambidextrous, so you can control the light from both sides with ease. It even works well with one-handed operation.

Surefire XC1B

CZ 75 SP P01 with surefire

I've found that the Surefire XC1B is not only the smallest but also the best weapon light for my CZ P01. It's a great fit, sitting flush with the muzzle on the full-size model and just slightly extending over the muzzle on the compact models.

One important thing to note is that the XC1B comes without a laser, focusing solely on providing an exceptional light source. It boasts a recoil-proof LED, which is carefully directed by a multi-faceted reflector to generate a broad 300-lumen MaxVision Beam. This makes it perfect for illuminating and identifying threats at close range.

In terms of strength and durability, it's built with lightweight yet robust aerospace aluminum, complete with a hard anodized finish to meet Mil-Spec standards. This means the XC1-B is tough enough to handle everyday carry and duty use without a hitch. So far I haven't had any issues with it.

What I find especially convenient is the improved constant-on activation. A simple tap on either one of the momentary switches (which are ambidextrous) turns the light on. To turn it off, you just tap either one of the momentary switches again. It's a straightforward and efficient design.

Olight PL Pro - Best Value

CZ 75 with olight pl2 valkyrie

I've had the chance to try out the Olight PL Pro, and it's quite an interesting light that shares many features with the Surefire X300. In fact, it's the closest you can get to an X300 without shelling out over $290.

This light impressively produces up to 1500 lumens, thanks to its CREE XP-L HI LED, and it's powered by its built-in lithium battery.

In terms of the feel, it's quite similar to the X300, though I must admit that the controls aren't as superior. The momentary on function isn't as effortless as simply tapping the switch on the X300. However, it compensates by providing very positive feedback, which is great for someone wearing gloves.

When it comes to the mounting mechanism, the light comes with an integrated QD (Quick Detach) mount that snaps onto the CZ 75 picatinny rail flawlessly, with adjustable tension to suit your preference.

Considering its price point, you're getting a powerful and compact weapon light that's well-suited for carry and home defense. It's definitely worth considering if you're in the market for a versatile and cost-effective option.

Common FAQ

What Lumen Brightness Should Be Enough For Home Defense?

When you mount a light on the CZ 75 compact for home defense or concealed carry, it's important to understand that lumen intensity isn't everything.

We have a detailed article breaking down what is lumen & candela as to how much brightness you need in a weapon light.

In addition, It's inevitable that the lens will get fogged up by the carbon residue the more you shoot.

Cleaning the carbon off the weapon light is one necessary thing you have to do after each range session.

Flashlight Extends Past The Muzzle VS Flush Mount

If you're interested getting a handheld tactical light as well, please check out our best EDC tactical flashlight guide here.

Extends Past The Muzzle

For personal defense purpose, it's recommended to have the flashlight extends past the muzzle just a little to prevent the slide from going out of battery, if the defender finds himself in a "point blank contact shoot" situation.

Or use it as a striking tool.

Mounts Flush With Muzzle

A light that sits flush with the muzzle feels more compact & it's slightly faster to draw without the extra slide length slowing you down.
