Olight Warrior 3 - Best Olight For EDC

We chose the Olight Warrior 3 as our overall favorite handheld tactical light for several compelling reasons. It's a standout in its category, being slim, lightweight, and packed with major core features that EDC light users would appreciate. Its versatility extends beyond handheld use, as it can also be mounted on weapons via a magnetic remote pressure switch, making it a top pick for a wide range of applications.
One of the major pros of the Warrior 3 is its powerful performance. It's powered by a single 5000mAh 21700 rechargeable lithium battery, delivering a 20% increase in maximum output to 1800 lumens and a 44% boost in distance to 300 meters. This significant enhancement in performance ensures that it meets the needs of the most demanding situations.
The light also features an aggressive strike bezel with PVD coating, which is not only durable but also useful for emergency situations. The protective rear tail cap is another thoughtful addition, preventing accidental activation and ensuring that the light is ready when you need it.
The programmable tail cap switch is a feature I find particularly useful. It allows for instant strobe activation or momentary use, catering to various tactical needs. The textured design of the light enhances grip, crucial in high-pressure situations, and the redesigned tail switch allows for versatile positioning, even when mounted upside down. This level of detail in design makes the Warrior 3 exceptionally user-friendly and adaptable.
However, there is a con to consider. It would be beneficial if the light body featured a grip stop to prevent hand slipping when using the tactical tail cap grip. This addition would enhance the overall safety and usability of the light, especially in fast-paced or wet conditions. Despite this, the Olight Warrior 3 remains a top choice for anyone in need of a reliable, high-performance handheld tactical light.
Warrior X4 - Best Handheld Thrower
The Olight Warrior X 4 introduces significant enhancements over its predecessor, the Warrior X Pro, notably in performance and beam quality. Equipped with the Luminus SFT-70 LED, the Warrior X 4 delivers a brighter and more focused beam, achieving an output of 2,600 lumens and a beam distance of 640 meters.
Users have noted that the X4's beam offers wider and brighter side illumination, enhancing peripheral visibility.
A notable advancement in the Warrior X 4 is the shift from Olight's proprietary magnetic charging system to a more universally accepted USB-C charging port. This change addresses previous concerns about the magnetic charging system's limitations and offers users greater convenience and compatibility. However, it's important to note that the Warrior X 4 continues to use a proprietary 21700 battery with an extra negative terminal on the positive end, meaning standard 21700 batteries are not compatible.
In terms of design and usability, the Warrior X 4 maintains the robust build quality Olight is known for, with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The design includes a retractable collar protecting the charging port, ensuring durability in various conditions. Additionally, the tail switch has been redesigned for improved tactile feedback, allowing for easier operation even while wearing gloves. This feature enhances the light's usability in tactical situations.
Olight Baton 3 - Best Cap Light
The Olight Baton 3 enhances its predecessor, the S1R Baton II, by increasing maximum output from 1,000 to 1,200 lumens, providing users with a more powerful illumination experience. Additionally, the Baton 3 offers extended runtimes, allowing for longer usage periods without frequent recharging.
Another notable advancement is the Premium Edition's wireless charging case, a portable solution enabling on-the-go recharging. This case, with a 3,500mAh capacity, allows multiple recharges of the flashlight's 550mAh battery before needing its own recharge, ensuring the light remains ready during extended use.
Design refinements include a two-way pocket clip for versatile carrying and a strong magnetic tailcap for hands-free operation. These enhancements, combined with increased performance and innovative charging, make the Olight Baton 3 a compelling upgrade over the S1R Baton II for those seeking a compact, powerful, and convenient everyday carry flashlight.
Olight I3UV EOS - Best Keychain UV Light
The Olight I3UV EOS is a keychain flashlight that I've found to be incredibly useful for minor low light tasks, fitting perfectly into everyday carry scenarios.
One of the pros that stand out is its simplicity and efficiency. It operates on just one AAA battery, making it both accessible and easy to maintain. The UV LED 395nm feature is particularly impressive, serving as an invaluable tool for professionals like HVAC technicians and automotive repair experts who need to spot leaks and cracks. Beyond professional use, it's also excellent for personal needs such as verifying IDs, detecting counterfeit currency, and revealing germs, among other uses. Its versatility in both professional and personal contexts makes it a must-have.
However, there is a con to consider. Priced at about $14, the UV light could be a bit stronger. I believe people would be willing to pay a little extra for an increase in UV intensity, which would expand its range of effectiveness and make it an even more valuable tool for various applications. Despite this, the Olight I3UV EOS remains a highly recommended addition to anyone's keychain for its utility, ease of use, and compact design.
Valkyrie PL 3 - Best Overall Pistol Light
This is the next newest upgrade from Olight PL Pro that features a new thumb screw mount. This means the users don't have to deal with the sharp edges of the QD lever, and it also allows holster maker to easily make holsters for pistols with Olight PL 3.
High lumen output - 1500 lumens on a max battery charge to provide the brightest illumination for indoor and outdoor use.
Rechargeable - PL 3 R is the rechargeable version that allows the user to train as much as possible without buying batteries
Ambi Control - Double press both switches simultaneously to activate the strobe
Olight PL Turbo - Best Thrower Pistol Light
The high candela model of the Olight PL 3 is a significant upgrade with its newly incorporated thumb screw mount, enhancing its capability to project a beam further for target identification. This feature makes it an excellent choice for both pistol and long gun applications in low-light conditions.
One of the standout features of this model is the increased lumen and candela. It allows for positive target identification up to 100 yards in the dark, thanks to its hot focused center beam. Not only does it illuminate the target, but it also provides a clear view of the surrounding area and target background, which is crucial for better situational awareness.
The adjustable mount position is another enhancement I appreciate. The light now includes a thumb screw mount, which replaces the QD lever. This design minimizes the risk of snagging, making it ideal for full-size or mid-size handguns. Additionally, the adjustable mount key allows users to customize the light's position, moving it closer or further away from the the trigger guard according to users' preference. This level of customization ensures that the light can adapt to various user needs and preferences.
Furthermore, the ambidextrous control ergonomics are a thoughtful addition. It accommodates both left-handed and right-handed users, allowing for easy activation of constant on, momentary, or strobe modes. This inclusivity in design ensures that the light is accessible and functional for a wider range of users, making it a versatile and user-friendly option for various shooting applications.

Valkyrie BALDR Mini - Compact Size
The Olight BALDR Mini 2 is an exceptional compact weapon light that seamlessly complements both full-size and compact frame handguns. In the bustling concealed carry market, it distinguishes itself as an indispensable tool that truly enhances the functionality and versatility of a handgun.
One of the most appealing features of the BALDR Mini 2 is the ability to train more frequently without the hassle of constantly purchasing batteries. The light is easily rechargeable via a USB cable, allowing for regular use and practice, which is crucial for any serious or recreational shooter.
The effortless mode switching is another feature that I find incredibly user-friendly. With the ability to switch between three distinct modes—Laser only, Light only, and Laser+Light—without any complicated button sequences, it's a straightforward and efficient tool for various scenarios. This simplicity in operation ensures that I can focus on the situation at hand without fumbling with the light.
Additionally, the customizable rail placement is a thoughtful design aspect, especially for subcompact gun users. The ability to adjust the light's position on the rail to bring the toggle switch closer to the trigger guard is a subtle yet impactful feature. It enhances ease of use and accessibility, making the BALDR Mini 2 a well-rounded, adaptable weapon light for any handgun owner.
Olight Odin GL Mini - Rifle Laser and Light Combo
Mounted on Daniel Defense MK18
The Olight Odin is Olight's top-tier dedicated rifle Scout light, boasting an impressive 2000 lumens to rival the Surefire Scout. As someone who has used the Olight M2R Warrior Pro, I found the Odin to be a significant upgrade, especially for tactical rifles. It integrates seamlessly with existing Scout light mounts, accommodating KeyMod, Picatinny, or MLOK systems, which I find incredibly convenient.
In terms of pros, the Odin excels with its high lumen and candela output, offering 2000 lumens and 22,500 candela, surpassing the Surefire M600DF. This feature provides superior target identification and threat control. The lockable magnetic pressure switch is a standout feature, addressing the issue of snagging cords and ensuring a secure attachment.
If the pressure switch isn't needed, it's easily removable, allowing for tail cap switch operation, similar to the Warrior X Pro and M2R Warrior. The USB rechargeable 21700 3.6V 500mAh battery is a significant upgrade, providing ample power and eliminating the need for constant battery purchases. Additionally, the included QD Scout Mount is robust and versatile, offering two mounting points for optimal orientation on a Picatinny handguard. The adjustable lumen intensity, ranging from 300 to 2000 lumens, allows for flexible lighting adjustments.
While the Odin is a powerhouse with durability on par with the Surefire Scout, I believe its beam could be slightly narrowed and intensified for enhanced long-range rifle applications. This improvement would make the Odin even more versatile and suited for a wider range of tactical needs.
Olight Javelot - Best Scout Light
The brand new Olight Javelot Tac is the next generation scout light offers tighter focus beam like a Surefire X300 Turbo. However the only thing we didn't like is that the lumen intensity drops after about 1 minute of constant on, then we have to wait until it cools down before returning to full lumen intensity.
It features an one-piece aluminum body design with an integrated scout mount. The beam pattern is close to a MODLITE PLHv2 for throw and flood.
It kept all the great features we love about the Odin, and now it's much better for mid range target identification in the dark.
Outdoors & Camping
X9R Marauder - Brightest Output
So rugged! Sent to Space
The Olight X9R Marauder is a powerhouse designed for outdoor enthusiasts requiring exceptional illumination. Its 25,000-lumen output, generated by six Cree XHP70.2 LEDs, ensures unparalleled brightness, effectively turning night into day. This intense light is invaluable for activities such as search and rescue operations, camping, and large-scale construction projects, providing reliable performance even in the most challenging conditions.
Beyond its raw power, the X9R offers versatility with eight adjustable brightness settings, ranging from 200 to 25,000 lumens. This flexibility allows users to tailor the light intensity to specific tasks, whether it's illuminating a vast area or conserving battery life for extended use. Additionally, the flashlight's beam can reach distances up to 630 meters, making it ideal for long-range visibility needs.
A common misconception is that the X9R's maximum output drains the battery almost immediately. While it's true that at 25,000 lumens the battery life is limited, the flashlight is designed to sustain this output for several minutes before stepping down to prevent overheating, outperforming many competitors that reduce brightness after just a minute. Moreover, at its lowest setting of 200 lumens, the X9R can operate for up to 27 hours, demonstrating its efficiency and practicality for prolonged use.
