The Olight PL Mini 2 features a 600 lumen LED with up to 2500 cd, the light is slightly brighter than the Streamlight brand TLR 7A, but based on my first impression, the light is very bright on a fully charged battery, and it has an effective 40 yard throw and a super wide flood beam to lit up everything right in front of the user.

As far as beam pattern goes, the light beam is balanced between throw and flood, which it has a softened center corona with a wide flood, similar to Surefire's TIR lens performance that is optimized for close quarter tactical low light applications.

For a light this size, it's quite impressive to have this level of performance.

Light Beam Color Tint

The Olight PL Mini 2 features a neutral tint, which helps with identifying object's subject contour, color, details and gradation.

Why is it important ? Accurate color rendition helps the user accurately identify the subject in the dark by bring out the details such as color that a coolish tint beam can't.

A light with cool (bluish) tint tends to make certain color appears to be different than its true color. For example - Dark red looks black, white looks blue, dark green looks brown....etc

QD Mount & Adjustable Slider

The Olight PL Mini 2 can be quickly installed and removed off the rail via the QD lever mount. It locks solid and stays on tight when experiencing recoil. We have tried this on a 1911 shooting 45, Glock 22 shooting 40SW, and it will definitely hold when shooting 9mm.

The light also comes with a GL rail adapter for a better mount with less slack on a Glock pistol frame.

The Most Impressive Feature - The adjustable position mounting system is particularly useful for adjusting the light position on the rail to bring the control switch closer to the shooter's reach, and it also minimizes the overall profile of the setup.

Activation Switch Ergonomics

The light features two simple ambidextrous toggle switch on both sides, and the shooter can easily control the switch without any issue.

The overall construction of the PL Mini 2 is very solid, and the body surface is black anodized to provide scratch and corrosion protection.

The overall profile of the design felt similar to Surefire XC2 that is small and simple for conceal carry, and it's very slim on the sides to sit flush with the width of the gun.
