Though it requires checking tightness every 200 rounds. The ambidextrous switches provide momentary and constant-on operation plus a user-activated strobe.

Multi-fuel capability matches the TLR-7 Sub—the TLR-3X accepts either CR123A disposables or Streamlight's SL-B9 rechargeable pack. For maximum output just use the SLB9.

Field Note: The TLR-3X's narrower 1.07-inch width creates less printing through clothing compared to the TLR-7 Sub, but the added 0.35 inches of length means the bezel extends noticeably past the Shield X's muzzle. 

The 6,500 candela output and this is roughly 20% more throw distance than the TLR-7 Sub's 5,000 candela. so For home defense scenarios where engagement distances rarely exceed 15 yards, this is plenty, but if you want maximum brightness, I still recommend the TLR 7 SUB HL X instead. 

You get a brighter light and Holster availability for the TLR-3X remains limited compared to the TLR-7 Sub. and this is true for every new light that comes to the market every year.
