From a compensator standpoint, what matters is the slide on the Glock 47, and that slide is Gen 5. which means it has the bullnose front bevel that Glock introduced on Gen 5 pistols. That chamfered nose is purely cosmetic on a stock gun, but it becomes a hard fitment variable the moment you bolt something to the muzzle.

Buyer beware: If a listing doesn't explicitly call out "Gen 5" or "bullnose compatible," assume it's built for a flat-nose slide.

Radian's Afterburner, KKM's Gen 5 comp, PMM's Gen 5 duty comp, and the HC95 finned variant are all specifically profiled for the bullnose. Everything else needs confirmation before you buy.

Glock 47 Recoil Spring Recommendations by Setup

Radian Ramjet

Factory spring runs well with 124gr and heavier and Most users drop to a 13 to 14lb uncaptured spring for 115gr range ammo. Radian's own guidance is 124gr minimum.

KKM 4-Port

Requires an uncaptured guide rod. The factory captive Gen 5 guide rod won't work with the KKM comp installed. Drop to 13lb for target loads and 15lb for 124gr +P and hotter. KKM sells ISMI and Wolff spring options on their site.

PMM Duty

A good starting point before you spend money on spring sets.

Symptoms of Wrong Spring

  • Undercycling or failure to return to battery means go lighter.
  • Nose-diving or a pogo-stick front sight means go heavier. Test with your carry ammo specifically because range ball and carry loads often behave differently through a comp.

The Glock 47 Comps Worth Buying

Radian Afterburner + Ramjet

Radian Afterburner + Ramjet glock gen 5

There are three setups worth your money on the Glock 47 right now. Each involves a matched barrel. Compensators that index off a proprietary barrel are simply more consistent than ones that clamp onto the factory Glock barrel's threads.

The Radian setup is the benchmark right now for full-size Glock platforms. The Ramjet barrel is fluted 416R stainless with a proprietary geometry, and the Afterburner locks onto it via the INTRA-LOK taper-screw system. No threads, no Loctite, no set screw drama. Installation means removing your factory barrel, dropping the Ramjet in, and snugging the locking screw to 15 in-lbs. That's it.

The recoil reduction is real. Independent testing puts the combo at 30 to 44% felt recoil reduction depending on load, which is impressive for something that only adds 0.47 inches to the slide's overall length. That half-inch increase means all your G34-length holsters still work, which matters if you're running a Safariland or an AIWB in a duty-pattern kydex.

The threadless design is also why it's legal in all 50 states. No suppressors to worry about, no NFA grey area questions.

This system is engineered for 124gr and heavier 9mm. It will run 115gr, but you'll feel the difference in gas volume going through the comp. For carry or duty use, you're probably running 124gr Federal HST or equivalent anyway, so that's not a limitation.

KKM Precision 4-Port Comp Combo

~$250–$280 · Gen 5 G17/G45/G47 · Threaded 9/16×32

kkm glock gen 5 compensator

KKM's combo is the original Roland Special barrel. It's been running suppressor-free comp builds on Glocks since before it was fashionable. The Gen 5 version of this combo ships with a comp that has been specifically profiled to follow the bullnose bevel. KKM actually calls this out in their product notes, labeling it the "new Gen 5 style comp that contours to the bullnose bevel."

The barrel itself is Button-rifled 416R stainless, heat treated to 42 RC, with an oversized lockup area that produces genuinely tighter groups than a factory barrel. Shooters who have run both the Radian and KKM setups tend to call the KKM slightly more accurate, while giving the Radian an edge on recoil reduction. At $100 to $140 less than the Radian, the KKM is the smarter call if you're prioritizing accuracy or if you're reloading.

The 4-port design vents gas upward and to the sides, which does an excellent job keeping the dot in the window on an MOS G47. If you're running an optic, and you probably are on this platform, the KKM keeps your sight picture cleaner across follow-up shots.

Spring tuning is more important with the KKM. Most users running 115 to 124gr target loads drop to a 13lb recoil spring to avoid undercycling. If you're running 124gr +P or duty loads, stock spring weight is usually fine.

Parker Mountain Machine (PMM) Duty Comp

~$100–$180 · Gen 5 required for G47 · Threaded 1/2×28

ppm glock gen 5 compensator

PMM explicitly lists the G47 as requiring the Gen 5 comp version, so fitment is confirmed. Where PMM differentiates is ammo sensitivity. Users report the PMM running reliably with everything from 115gr FMJ to 147gr subsonic without spring changes.

You can run it on a threaded aftermarket barrel you already own. That's useful if you're already running a Faxon or Agency barrel.
