Every barrel gets a full salt bath nitride treatment inside and out, which boosts lubricity, extends service life, and holds up against corrosion and surface wear. The conventional button rifling runs at a 1:10 twist and handles the full range of ammunition, including cast lead.

The barrel drops into factory-spec M&P Shield and Shield Plus slides with no gunsmithing required, but the tolerances are tighter than OEM, which translates to a more consistent lockup and better accuracy out of the box. An 11 degree target crown promotes uniform bullet release, and the 1/2-28 threaded muzzle is ready for suppressors, compensators, or a thread protector.

The straight fluted profile is patented and does three things at once: it cuts weight, increases surface area for faster heat dissipation, and gives the barrel a clean, purposeful look that fits the Shield platform well. Faxon's signature X logo is engraved on the hood, with caliber markings on the ejection port side.
