When To Use A High Mount

Good times to use a high mount:

  • Firearms with slight or zero top rail to stock cheek weld height
  • Reduces cheekweld neck strain & accommodate phsyical injuries and thick chest rig
  • Allows better night vision goggle clearance (Check out Scalarworks LEAP NVG Height)
  • To clear front sight post (1/3rd co-witness or higher)  
  • Setting up ideal optic to eye distance for shooters with long facial structure
  • Using adjustable cheekweld stock

When To Use A Low Mount

Low mount works well when:

  • If there is offset distance between top rail and stock cheek weld
